GovTech: The Final Frontier of Innovation

If COVID has proven anything, it is that the efficient delivery of public services through technology is vital for a functioning society.

With trust in institutions at an all-time low, now is the time for governments to do what they can to not only strengthen their relationship with the public but allow us to lean on the innovation sector to improve this. It is about creating more seamless intergovernmental collaboration and better public-private partnerships.

This is changing. As of 2020, spending on GovTech in Europe is currently at €21.8bn; and that could grow five-times over in the years to come. So how do we make the most of this revolution?

Some of the important questions now arising around this include:

  • How do we encourage a transparent, multi-stakeholder approach to this problem?
  • Is the government able to safely adopt the right tech solutions for governance?
  • How do we kickstart a renewed relationship between the tech sector and the government?
  • How do we get the best minds working on the hardest problems in government?

In this CogXtra, we’ll hear from best practice case studies, delve into how departments and organisations can identify and overcome critical barriers to implementation, and untangle the tight knot of government’s use of data.
