Kirsty Lloyd Jukes
CEO, Latent Logic
Kirsty Lloyd-Jukes is an experienced automotive entrepreneur. A graduate of New College Oxford, where she read Classics, Kirsty spent her early career at leading strategy consultancy Oliver Wyman. She then joined the UK’s Automobile Association as Director of Ventures to lead the strategy post IPO. Whilst there she launched several successful start-ups in the future mobility ecosystem, including the AA’s multi award-winning Connected Car product Car Genie, and lobbied for road safety improvements through the AA’s Charitable Trust. This work convinced her of the positive societal benefits autonomous cars could bring to UK roads: Latent Logic brought the opportunity to help make that a reality. Latent Logic is a spin-out from the Computer Sciences department at Oxford, founded by Professor Whiteson. Its mission is to use state-of-the-art deep learning to develop autonomous systems which can imitate complex human behaviours. The immediate focus for this powerful technology is on developing virtual reality environments to test autonomous car safety: the “Driving Test” for driverless cars.
