About Amy

Amy is the global head of data analytics and data sciences at HSBC. She is responsible for accelerating the strategic development of analytics, machine learning and AI capability across the group, enabling business adoption, culture change and benefit realisation at scale.

Prior to working at HSBC Amy was general manager of Group Data Sciences at Commonwealth bank of Australia, where she scaled up the bank’s machine learning capability and built a strong and vibrant team culture. Previous to that, Amy was that founding member and Chief Data Science Officer at DataSpark, Singtel’s data monetisation spin-off, where she was instrumental to its inception and commercial express. Amy is also the Chair of the Industry Advisory Board at Swinburne University of Technology’s Data Science Research institute, co-Chair of SIGKDD Australia and New Zealand Chapter, and a science board member of i-Com. She is co-author and co-investor of multiple patents and publications. Amy holds a Ph.D in data mining, a masters in AI, a BSc in computer science and an MBA.
