Across The Pond
Julie is founder and CEO of Across the Pond, a global, independent creative agency specialising in film for innovative brands.
As CEO she oversees the strategic direction of the company, the offices in London, San Francisco and Singapore, and the creation of all film, social campaigns and events.
The agency was born in 2008 when, working for Google, she helped them harness the increasing power of video content for brands. And the rest is history. Across the Pond have since created campaigns lampooning the online world for Google Analytics, got kids interested in Science for the Google Science Fair, and shone a light on the inner workings of Google’s AI projects. The agency’s work has been viewed millions of times and shared as many. Along the way they have won numerous awards. While they continue to work closely with Google, they now have a diverse roster of global clients, including Expedia, Facebook, Xiaomi and Ecovacs.
Prior to this Julie worked in TV, where she was an award-winning film-maker creating programmes, documentaries and short-form content for major channels including the History Channel, Discovery, Warner Bros, Disney and Channel 4. Her 1998 documentary ‘The Wall Crawler’ which followed the French “Spiderman” Alain Robert, scaling skyscrapers around the globe, was distributed internationally, winning multiple awards.
Her business development philosophy is simple; no pitching, because great work is the best way to get work.
Julie is a true citizen of the world. She is a native of Philadelphia, self-confessed Francophile, now based in London (hence the name ‘Across the Pond’) where she lives with her life partner and their blended family of 7.
