Jutta is the founder and CEO of Parity Technologies, whose software powers the core of the Ethereum network and handles over $50 billion in assets. Parity’s software underpins some of the most ambitious projects in the blockchain space, including the World Food Programs’ distribution of aid.
Jutta found her start in blockchain during the early days of the Ethereum project as its original Chief of Security. Inspired by her experience at the forefront of the blockchain movement, her most recent work has been building Polkadot, a next-generation blockchain protocol. Polkadot aims to overcome shortcomings of existing blockchains by providing a scalable, secure, and interoperable platform for blockchain applications. Polkadot is designed as a foundation for fulfilling the true promise of blockchain technology: the creation of an interoperable ecosystem of decentralized apps and services that will distribute power and equity for the common good.
An applied mathematician with a Ph.D in mathematics, Jutta’s work has done a great deal to advance decentralized technology as a key part of the Web 3 movement. As early pioneers in this new wave of p2p technologies, Parity has faced challenges along the way, including a hack that froze users’ ether. Undeterred under her leadership, Parity has responded with a hardened dedication to advance secure development, blockchain protocol governance, and the vision of a decentralised Web 3.0.
