Karen is a partner at Lathams, having practiced as a leading antitrust lawyer and served in a variety of senior leadership positions at the firm. Today, she also heads up their partnership with the World Economic Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and more broadly, the firm’s work with clients and colleagues on the legal, governance and oversight challenges associated with implementing frontier technologies. Her work in that area focuses on the business and societal opportunities and risks of these technologies, including AI, and the practical steps organizations and individuals can take to manage them responsibly, from the perspective of Boards of Directors, executives and legal departments.
