About Professor Yvonne
Yvonne McDermott Rees is a Professor of Law at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, Swansea University. Her expertise is in the law of evidence, international criminal law, and human rights law. She recently led a Nesta-funded project which examines how machine learning can be deployed to help investigators manage large masses of digital evidence and identify relevant evidence. She is also currently Principal Investigator on a multidisciplinary research project, OSR4Rights, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, which examines how human rights investigations use open source research and the challenges and opportunities posed by the use of open source intelligence in this context.
