Simon Pearson is Professor of Agri Food Technology and Director of the Lincoln Institute of Agri-Food Technology at the University of Lincoln. Simon’s institute focuses on the application of robotics and digital technology across the agri food chain, this includes robotic systems to support the harvesting of fresh produce crops, the use of IoT to optimise retail refrigeration systems and AI to reduce food waste in complex supply chains. Simon’s current work is focussing on governance systems to underpin data collaboration across the food system. Prior to joining Lincoln, Simon was CEO of a UK framing company and also worked as a technologist for a UK multiple retailer.
