Director of Studio Berman and Founder of Part W
Zoë Berman is an architect, university lecturer and founder of Part W – an action group of women working across architecture, design, infrastructure and construction who campaign for gender parity across the built environment. Part W is driven by a desire to see cities designed in a manner that is equally beneficial to all. In 2019 the group launched a campaign raising awareness of the fact global awards for architecture are consistently awarded to male designers. That campaign lead to a key moment of change, featured in press including The Guardian, The Observer, Dezeen and BBC Radio 4. Zoë is Director of UK based design group Studio Berman working on installations, cultural and education projects. She is a visiting lecturer to schools of architecture in the UK and Europe, has been a guest speaker at the Design Museum and Barbican Centre in London and written for Royal Institute of British Architects Journal, Blueprint magazine and Architecture Today.
