About Giorgio

Giorgio Patrini is CEO and Chief Scientist at Deeptrace, an Amsterdam-based cybersecurity startup developing deep learning technology for detecting synthetic videos. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam working on deep generative models; and earlier at CSIRO Data61 in Sydney (Australia) building privacy-preserving distributed learning systems. He obtained a MSc (cum laude) in Computer Engineering from Milan Polytechnic, and a PhD in Machine Learning at the Australian National University, with a thesis on weakly supervised learning, deep learning and privacy; an excerpt of the thesis was awarded an oral presentation at CVPR 2017. In 2012 he co-founded Waynaut, an online mobility startup acquired by in 2017.
