Tariq leads the Rockefeller Foundation’s work on using data science to improve people’s lives. This includes integrating data and technology into the Foundation’s initiative areas of Food, Power, Health, and Jobs; and identifying, shaping and scaling breakthrough data science solutions for the public and social sectors at large.
He was previously the Global Data Editor of the World Bank. There, he led the Bank’s Open Data Initiative, established a multi-million dollar Data Innovation Fund, and became one of the institution’s most widely read authors using data visualization to communicate about global development to a broad audience.
He’s a graduate of the University of Cambridge and lives with his family in New York.
